Birding
Alafia River State Park offers excellent opportunities for birding enthusiasts. Be sure to bring your binoculars and your life list to spot a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.
Wading birds such as egrets and herons can often be observed near the river and lake shores. Keep a keen eye out for the majestic roseate spoonbills, who may be seen foraging at the water’s edge. Additionally, birdwatchers may be able to catch sight of hawks, bald eagles, and owls soaring through the skies.
