The Cascade Lakes, a picturesque collection of lakes in central Oregon, are located along the Deschutes River on the east side of the Cascade Range in Deschutes County. This scenic chain comprises 12 lakes and two reservoirs, each offering unique natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The Cascade Lakes start west of Mount Bachelor, just beyond the popular Mount Bachelor ski area, with Todd Lake being the first in the series. Moving west and south from Todd Lake, the chain includes Sparks Lake, Devils Lake, Elk Lake, Hosmer Lake, Lava Lake, Little Lava Lake, Cultus Lake, and Little Cultus Lake. At the southern end of the chain, you’ll find Crane Prairie Reservoir, North and South Twin Lakes, Wickiup Reservoir, and Davis Lake.

These lakes are accessible via the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, Century Drive, and Forest Service Road 46. This byway provides stunning views and convenient lake access but is closed in the winter due to heavy snowfall.
